Andante Tours is a small-scale travel company based in San José, Costa Rica. We specialize in designing and operating tailor-made tours for both FITs and groups. Since our founding in January 2024, we have combined local expertise with a personal approach and a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and reliability.In addition to general tours, we have also specialized in an important niche: hiking trips in Costa Rica. For this segment, we developed a dedicated website — wandelenincostarica.com — aimed at active travelers who want to explore Costa Rica on foot. Sustainability
Costa Rica is a beloved vacation destination, but this popularity also has a downside: some national parks and tourist hotspots can become very crowded. This can detract from the pure nature experience and the connection with local culture. Naturally, this also puts pressure on the country’s fragile environment.

About the founder: Wouter Zagt
Wouter Zagt is the founder of Andante Tours and has over 20 years of experience in tourism in Costa Rica. As a former tour guide, he knows the country from the inside. In his role as a product developer and manager at a large agency in San José, he worked for many years with travel organizations and tour operators from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Sweden, and Denmark.
He stands out by combining creativity, well-rounded experience in the tourism sector, local knowledge, and strong communication skills to create trips that perfectly align with the wishes of diverse target groups — whether broad-based tours or specialized hiking vacations.
